Meet the Midwife

Darling midwifery is founded by Emma Oman, a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Licensed Midwife located in cozy Southern Idaho.

Bio-

When Emma first felt called to midwifery, she was sitting on the beach in Cape Town, South Africa. She never would’ve dreamed that such a profession would become so dear to her heart. However, she walked through the open doors which brought her to this unique opportunity where she can offer services with her hands and the kindness of Christ.

Prior to her midwifery degree pursuit, Emma studied for a degree in International Maternal and Child Health where she learned skills that apply to rural and low-resource areas.

Emma Graduated from Mercy in Action College of Midwifery in early 2026 and is excited to offer home birth services for her end of the magic valley (in Buhl) and beyond. Emma is grateful to have apprenticed under many midwives in her time as a midwife student including local midwife Elizabeth Hartman with Twin Falls Midwifery. Emma also had the privilege of learning and working alongside two other midwives during her time at Twin Falls Midwifery, Delaney Bulow and Cami Jahn. Emma spent a summer as a student interning at one of the busiest freestanding midwifery clinics in the US, Maternidad La Luz in Texas serving the melting pot of cultures on the US-Mexican border.

Emma grew up in the treasure valley and moved to the magic valley as a very young adult, so the opportunity to give back to the community that cultivated her young adulthood resonates deeply with her.

When she is not doing midwifery work, Emma is a local private music teacher, for which she has a special passion. Emma also enjoys international travel and hopes someday to become a traveling midwife.

The Origins of Darling Midwifery

Emma is named “Emma Darlene” after her maternal grandmother and though she never met her, Emma honors her grandmother by naming her midwifery services after her. Her grandmother, Darlene, was a hardworking woman who served quietly and with no need for recognition or accolades. Emma strives to follow the example of this amazing woman.

Certifications

Every member of the Darling Midwifery Team is Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR.
